Have you ever referred to “successful” or “famous” people as ‘them‘? and consider yourself ‘us‘? Are you separating yourself from the Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey’s and Mother Theresa’s of this world because you think they have some sort of “super talent” you don’t?

Possibly its not just talent, but maybe they have some sort of luck, were in the right place at the right time, or maybe they belong to the ‘chosen few‘? People can’t help which family trust fund they were born into.

But here’s where it gets confusing.

Oprah has the same amount of time in a day you do, Bill has the exact same amount of brain matter you do, and your heart is just as big as Mother Theresa’s.

Putting Bill, Oprah and Theresa aside, what about those everyday people who just seem to make things happen – magically? The people who can eat whatever they want and never gain weight?  What about your neighbor Ted, who makes your annual income in 4 months without any sort of college education? Your sister-in-law’s children who seem to grow happier, healthier and smarter everyday – all while being extremely well behaved? What are their secrets?

Maybe there is a  big misconception about ‘Superheros’ and ‘super powers’, and I’m talking about powers like cunning wit, flowing charisma, or innate creativity as opposed to flying or invisibility.

Were only a select people were blessed with these powers at birth – just like we read in comics and see in the movies? Or is there something else at play here?

We’ve decided to investigate the Superhero Phenomenon,  we’ve uncovered whats really going on here in this Silva exclusive expose below:

    Hi Laura,
Thank you for the inspiring article. Did you know you can find out your life purpose from a hand analysis? Your fingerprints hold specific information that can be decoded to identify your life purpose. I agree with your point that living from life purpose is what is most fulfilling to us as humans. When we pay attention to our soul's calling and live from that, we find that sweet spot of flow and truly serve others as only we can do.

    • sandra.dass July 8, 2010 at 1:25 pm #

can you recommend someone for hand analysis?

    • Jonathan July 10, 2010 at 2:56 pm #

Rosemary, where can we get more info on hand analysis?

Huh…???? Can you be more specific..????

I was VERY disappointed to see Laura mention Al Gore's completely discredited farce, An Inconvenient Truth. A few years ago, a British court reviewed it, and determined, as have numerous scientists, that it contained many completely inaccurate and misleading assertions. If An Inconvenient Truth was going to be used in British schools, it have to be presented with a disclaimer pointing out that it was propaganda, and several of the more egregious errors would have to be identified as such.

It may have been a personal "accomplishment" for Al Gore to produce such an error filled "documentary", but it could have been a real documentary, rather than unfounded, anti-scientific Global Warming Alarmist propaganda.

    • Marney July 9, 2010 at 4:00 am #

      Hi Terrence,

This report isnt about the validity of the Inconvenient Truth. I feel you may have let your feelings about the documentary overshadow what we were really trying to get across here.

      Cheers,

      Marney

      • Terrence July 9, 2010 at 6:20 am #

Marney – It is unduly presumptuous of you to suggest that my "feelings" overshadowed anything.

You have no idea at all what my feelings are, or how they manifest. You have no idea at all whether I understood and appreciated what Laura was trying to get across, and what she did get across.

        Terrence

The part about Al Gore made me cringe. A liar AND a misogynist:
          http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/Sex-co…

I get the point Laura was trying to make. But my point is, he's not the best example to hold up as an inspiration for anything. I find his inclusion in this disturbing.

    Hi Laura,

    I believe every-one of us

    can be a super-hero

    if he or she WANTS.

    True power is:

    if we really want

    is possible to becomes.

    Auto-condizionarsi

    o, sapersi motivare….

  7. Rob July 8, 2010 at 9:34 pm #

I have a lot of trouble with Al Gore being used as an example of something good here.
    Best,
    Rob

    • Marney July 9, 2010 at 3:57 am #

      Hi Rob

The purpose of this expose is not to praise Al Gore. I think you've missed the main message here.

      • Terrence July 9, 2010 at 6:24 am #

Again, Marney, you are being unduly presumptuous by assuming that Rob "missed the main message here". You have no idea at all whether he understood or appreciated the message, just as you had no idea whether or not I did.

        Terrence

      • Chas July 10, 2010 at 4:27 pm #

Praising Al Gore is not the purpose? So why is he in there, with Mother Theresa and Oprah? Clearly we are meant to admire his… "achievements".

Please Marney, some of us ARE paying attention.

  8. Leila July 9, 2010 at 1:22 pm #

I liked the report. Thanks. I feel closer to my life purpose than I ever have. In some ways I feel finding my life’s purpose is my life’s purpose. Really!

  9. Jim Hillyer July 9, 2010 at 8:23 pm #

I love this message and the superhero metaphor. I understand from personal experience, and from a study of real 'heros' (current day and historical great achievers) the notion of flow. When you are on the path of your purpose, things fall in line, opportunities present themselves and your personal performance peaks, like a pro athlete playing in 'the zone.' However, the notion of 'no resistance' or that 'you no longer have to struggle, you just let go and glide along . . .[that] everything goes liquid smooth' can be misleading. Using the river metaphor, the real 'greats' (those who really improved the world in a big way, Lincoln, Ghandi, MLK, Caeser etc.) are never drifting on a lazy flow but face a raging river. When they learn to quit fighting upstream, the river didn't cease to roar, but like a skilled kayaker, they go WITH the flow. THEY quit resisting, but there are still plenty of obstacles. Maybe you don't have to struggle, but that does not mean there are no more obstacles to overcome. All superheros face villians.

    • Jim Hillyer July 9, 2010 at 8:25 pm #

While there is a difference between the FEEL of the struggle when you are pursuing the wrong goals and the FEEL of the struggle when you are pursuing the right goals, there are always struggles. In fact, they are the only thing that make us grow and make the story interesting, and give meaning and satisfaction to your purpose. In fact, sometimes big obstacles are a sign that you are on the RIGHT path (not a sign that you are on the wrong path.) There is a law of polarity and all things have their opposite, (you cannot have up without down, sweet without bitter); so, yes, 'the universe will conspire on your behalf' but opposing forces will also conspire against you, and if your purpose is good and great, you can be sure that those forces will be against it. So when resistance comes and obstacles bar the way, don't be quick to quit. Pay attention to the FEEL of the resistance. Think about the Wright Brothers. How easy would it have been for them to say with every failed attempt 'this is a sign from the universe that Man is not 'supposed' to fly.'

      • Jim Hillyer July 9, 2010 at 8:26 pm #

When a great athlete is in 'the zone' the competition does not go away or melt before them. In fact, the competition must be great and pose a real and significant threat to their success before they can get into the zone. We would not care to watch them if there was no one or nothing difficult to vanquish, and the athlete wouldn't care either. Those moments of 'flow' when the hero seems to effortlessly glide only occur when there is significant difficulty involved.

        • Jim Hillyer July 9, 2010 at 8:27 pm #

Think of a pro surfer who becomes 'one, with wave.' He couldn't do it if the ocean were calm and as smooth as glass. It is only when the wave becomes too powerful to handle, (where anyone who resisted it would, relative to the wave, be absolutely insignificant, have zero impact upon it and would be completely wiped out by it and have no power against it) that he can do more than paddle around aimlessly. Not only does the insurmountability of the obstacle give us the MOTIVATION to achieve, it actually provides the ABILITY too. In fact, it is the power of the obstacle, the strength of the opposition that fuels the whole event. This is the same for team sports, musical masterpieces and great moments in history (e.g. Ghandi freeing India from the British Empire, the founding of the USA), and even most superheros (Batman wouldn't be Batman if Gotham City wasn't so wicked.)

          • anders August 13, 2010 at 8:56 pm #

Great! ;-) what about programming bigger and better waves to surf, at all levels!

This is a case of knowing ones true potential through self realization. Every one has the potential to be a super heo. All it needs is guidance from a relized soul. Question is do we really want to be super hero. Where there is a will there is a way.

  12. Mikael July 10, 2010 at 1:31 pm #

Great and inspiring report as you Silva people always offer! The report was well illustrated.

Expect, I wouldn’t count Al Gore either as a person to admire or to be inspired of, quite opposite really. Personally I think he is a lier and “global warming” is big hoax just like swine flu… The report would be better, if you change him to somebody, who most people could admire.

Jim Hillyer, well written comments! I am sure, you are definately on your way to a great superhero. I am sure, many reading this blog are on our way…

I just published a book called "The Cosmic Hierarchy and its Endless Diversity", Publisher Lightning Demand Press, Miramichi, NB, Website krishna@lightningdemandpress.com. If I had read the commments made above on your website before the publication I'd have put them on the first page because I totally agree with the comments made about Al Gore and his report. In my book I give a more scientific explanation for the warming of the atmosphere not divulged to date. Maybe this is my purpose in life. I agree with the writer above: "and if your purpose is good and great, you can be sure that those forces will be against it." I've experienced those forces numerous times, but I hate to give up. Thank you, Astrid
