    Thank you very very much!

It was very usefull, however, there is a thing i didn´t have an answer yet and it is realy anoying me. I usualy fall asleep while doing the centering exercise. I feel no problem in relaxing myself, but then i fall a sleep and have dreams that are far from what i was concentrating. I don´t sleep for long, i wake up several times doing the exercise, but , this way, i´m finding it very hard do visualize.

Hpoping an answer soon, i thank you in advance

    Miguel

Thank you for the information, I always wondered about the best time to meditate. I do find meditating before I go to sleep the most effective, and will continue with this practise. Thanks again! Love it!

    Thanks a lot Laura,

    I use Centering Exercise succesful.

I wished a better contact with my elder sister. Today my sister helped me! Earlier I asked her that we go shopping some mineral water. She forgot her promise but after some meditation her promise 'came back'!

My concentrate is better after meditation. I am studying for a smaller English language examination and after the meditation it is easy. It is very natural and good feel.

    Better and better

I experience the same condition as Miguel – these exercises relax me so much I usually drift off to sleep. And my skills at full-on “visualizing” are not what I expect them to be, based on what I hear in the lessons. The best I can do is just “imagine”, conceptually. Otherwise, a great means to focus one’s concentration.

I also fall asleep dring the centering and have dreams unrelated to the issues I am facing. I am well rested and eat wholesomely so my health is great….why am I falling asleep? I do wake up refreshed and alert with no fogginess or physical problem returning to "Life" :) but I can't seem to stop the nap from happening. Please advise as I see here that others have the same challenge.

By the way….it doesn’t matter when I do the meditation, it seems, I still nap! :\ GRRRRR

The countdown deepening exercise has remarkably improved my subconscious mind and my memory. After going to alpha and relaxing in that state, it seems to me, as though i had a good night’s sleep. Its really refreshing

HI there Laura – I have a major problem; when doing the 3,2,1 and then the ten countdown, well, I fall right asleep I get so relaxed, Its very difficult for me to maintain any focus at all even though I am determined to stay awake and not drift off – but as soon as the count down starts and I begin to get more and more relaxed, well, by the time the “relax your face, relax your arms, your legs” Bingo I am gonzo to the world.
Can you help – I find this really frustrating and am stuck in the course as I don’t feel I can accomplish the course when I keep going to sleep when trying to go to Level – HELP PLEASE…….. : )) Even though I find it a bit humorous, I feel it is blocking me from enjoying the full benefit of the course and from proceeding further with the material.
I also want to tell you how much admiration I have for the Silva Method, and all the people involved over the years, Jo Lyttle, is especially touching with her obvious deeply emotional committment to helping the homeless – its not hard to see that her heart, and soul are completely and deeply given to this path in her life. An incredible woman to care so deeply for those that society has thrown away, kudos to this outstanding woman……… and likewise the other outstanding Silva people, Burt Goldman, etc….. and now I get a chance to get to know you too Laura….. Best and warmest regards to all the Silva team, past present future…. I hope one day to be one of you. That is, if I ever can stay awake when going to Level…. : )))

Thank you for a very timely response to a problem I have been having. About a month ago I started using your free lessons and it seems as if I kept getting stuck at a certain level of meditation and could not make myself get beyond the poor concentration and lack of visualization skills that the lessons taught. This is where I had given up before in learning mind skills because noone had mentioned that this is a normal learning hurdle and to keep going like Laura said. My old teacher said that I had to much brain damage and that I would never remember or be able to visualize things again. (I was in a couple of accidents, one I was a passenger in a car that was hit by a train.) Thank you, thank you for saying that this is the normal way your brain works is by jumping to other subjects and just keep going back to what you are working on. Deep breath time and I know I will succeed this time!

I too have the same problem as most of the people here has jotted down i.e. dozing off while meditating whether its in the morning, afternoon or before going to sleep at night. How can i overcome this probem, pls help

  31. Briggett February 8, 2009 at 6:23 am #

Hi Laura, the program is probably working for a great number of people, however, I am having difficulty at the countdown. I stated off okay and like Jessica, I go to sleep. It seems to be a much needed sleep but this is creating in me a feeling of uslessness in my personal efforts. I want to center, countdown, focus, visualize and set goals clearly but I am not doing Any of this. My thoughts get jumbled with so many things I need to do and have to do until listening is the comfort that puts me right to sleep…I feel a sense of comfort somehow. I know everyone has some difficulty or another perhaps, however, I feel really overwhelmed and am distracted so easily…it’s unreal! I feel very vulnerable, child-like and lost as I share with you but I am being honest about what I’m experiencing. To be even more honest, I don’t know if I will acheive much in 21 days on this program….I hope I do. Several days have already gone by and I’m starting to avoid doing it at all, procrastinating and then allowing myself to be distracted. What would you advise or suggest I do from this point?

    Thank you

I was hoping for an answer to the problem of falling asleep, as many seem to experience it, even though I don't really regard it as a problem. It is so relaxing, I don't even try to resist and I have a feeling that we experience the benefits subliminally. Well… I hope so. One day when I am rich I plan to reward the Silva System, as they have been so generous sharing free downloads. I simply couldn't afford any of these things, so I am truly grateful to the Silvas. Liz
