Winter Olympics 2010 has begun! And it’s being held in none other than the beautiful city of Vancouver in Canada.

While the excitement mounts and the world watches, guess what some of the Olympians are up to and how they prepare themselves for probably, the biggest competition in their lives?

In this article, Michael Lambert, Canada’s snow boarding champion reveals that he meditates. Here’s my favorite part of the article:

His training is likely to include visualization exercises he learned through his meditation specialist.

“I think it really helped train my mind, gave me more control over it,” Lambert told the Canadian Press.

Lambert has had trouble focusing in the past and the meditation has greatly improved that. It is a main reason behind his personal growth.

“It’s definitely been one of the biggest keys.”

This is not the first time that we hear of sportsmen and women using meditation and visualization as one of the main components to their training. The Silva Method has had similar case studies and reports written on this very topic too.
