Find your creativity with silva

Peek  into any history book and you can see the progression on society. From the stone age to the agriculture age, then with the invention of machines came  the industrial revolution. As recent as the early 90′s with the birth of the internet, we entered the stage we have come to know now – the information age.

But some are saying that a new era is dawning upon us. In Daniel Pink’s book “A Whole New Mind – Why Right Brainers Will Rule The Future” – Pink suggests we are moving into a Conceptual Age – characterized by creators and empathizers. According to him “Artists, inventors, designers, storytellers, caregivers, consolers, big-picture thinkers – will now reap society’s richest rewards and share its greatest joys”

The Conceptual Age

Pink goes on to state that, like in the industrial revolution where many human jobs were replaced with machines, these days any jobs that require logical, analytical left brain thinking are now being replaced by computer programs. Many new professions are changing into right brain professions – and if you are not creative it could be be harder for you keep a job in this new era. The new job market no longer belongs to knowledge workers, but the creative. Those who can take the abundance of information and knowledge and create something with intrinsic value. As he puts it

“But a funny thing happened while we were pressing our noses to the grindstone: The world changed. The future no longer belongs to people who can reason with computer-like logic, speed, and precision. It belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind. Today – amid the uncertainties of an economy that has gone from boom to bust to blah – there’s a metaphor that explains what’s going on. And it’s right inside our heads.”

For more on the conceptual age, check out Dan’s great article ‘Revenge Of The Right Brain’.

Not only ‘right inside our heads’, but the right hemisphere of our brain – the side responsible for creativity.

The Value Of Creativity In The Workplace

This can be exemplified if you take a peak at FastCompany’s Top 100 creative people in business in 2010. The top 10 not surprisingly contains a international pop star, film maker and TV producer – but the other 7? Shockingly the top ten rounds out with a Harvard law professor, the CEO of Safeway and top executives from Apple, Nike, Microsoft and Nissan.  Proving that the perceived value of creativity has spread to sectors not previously thought of as “creative”.

Improved creativity is not only limited to the job spectrum. Expressing your creativity leads to a more energetic and greater quality of life. This is because when we create things and make things we are expressing ourselves in our truest form.

diversity

Creativity Adds Value To Your Life

You can improve your relationships with loved ones through a little creative thinking. Ever find yourself in a rut? Or maybe going through the same arguments over and over again? Simply by flexing your creative muscles you can approach old problems with a fresh outlook. Maybe even surprise your loved ones with a unique surprise that expresses your true feelings and appreciation for them? You can also attract new, exciting people into your life through a little creative efforts.

The definition of creativity is “whereby something new is created that has some kind of value.” The truth is the more creativity you deploy, the more things you CREATE and the more you HAVE! You can create more love, happiness, joy, health or time in your life.

When you express yourself you journey down the path of self discovery and authenticity. When we create something, we take it from our essence of what we truly believe, feel and think. Creativity is also a spiritual expression, so naturally people who often express themselves creatively feel more self-confident and connected to a higher source.

So maybe creativity isn’t just for art class anymore?

But now I want to know where the Silva community weighs in on this issue:

Do you think society is starting to place more value on creativity?
Would you consider yourself as a creative person?
Are you in a space where you can create and express yourself freely often enough?

From what you have expressed, I believe more value should be placed on creativity (even if not). I used to feel threatened by technology (computer) as it seemed it could do whatever I can do but with this creativity, I am confident I am higher than tech.

Yep, I consider myself creative and this caused me a lot of problems at school. I am not good at logic and stuff but like depth. Good now that I know I am on the right track

Actually I am not in a space I can express myself freely but internet I believe will help with this

I believe that we are all being called to higher state of being. And think this is why a lot of people are going through some tough times now. I think this is awake up call to creating and truly being who we were born to be.

Inside us all is such beautiful creativity if we will step into our own selves rather the self we were taught to be. This is where our essense of being lies and wants to be birthed.

It is time we forget about what we taught to be and create what wants to be through us.

Through this we can be creators for ourselves and the rest of the world to be and living in a better way that benefits all mankind.

Like the lady said, Heaven on Earth is calling out to us.

So let's be the example of Living from our natural resources that are available to us. I am sure we all will be amazed at what comes through us.

    Loving all mankind,

We come from a creator, we are all born to create, all born naked, all born with special talents.Find a need and fill it
which is a opportunity, like a brownie baking pan or large size muffin tin or stain remover in laundry detergent. It is said " that their are the doers and the watchers, those whom make it happen and those whom watch it happen
Some doers have many talents and masters of none, others have one and master it.We need to love ourself and know our true self our passion and excel in it .When we love ourself we can love others and serve others. It is a wonderful time to be alive if you accept that and believe it,all is well.Continue to be the best that you can be.

You have three good questions Laura !

I experience that the society is looking for creativity but don't know what to do with it when it appears.
The reason is that we (as individuals) are not there yet, in numbers. There are still to many with left brain dominans that are controlling teams, departments, companies, corporations, countries…

Creativity could take us "boldly to where no man has gone before" and that is when the fear part of conrol kicks in. New ideas are hard to accept…

I enjoy being creative and where I'm most creative is in the private realm because the workplace is bound by rules, budgets, businessplans, margins, ROI, etc.. This does not always encurage creativity BUT it could and a few places it does !

The most important thing we can learn and develop is the understanding that our reallity is one that we create 100% on a subjectiv level. All we see, feel, hear, taste, belive is only our understanding of this reallity. This is the major stop sign for a full life of creativity, private life or business life…

Creativity needs to be part of everything. I so wish education was so.Many creative children become challenging and unfocussed simply because of constantly been told WHAT to do rather than How to do it… I believe that as more and more of us believe and support creativity, this energetic focus will create an environment in which creativity will both seed, germinate and grow.

Ever noticed how positive and gentle the energy is around children doing creative activities?

    Thanks for this lovely reminder

Sorry Stevie, but without rules, there is anarchy. Everything in the universe is governed by law. Everything. Even God Himself would cease to be God if He violated His own laws. Try jumping off the Golden Gate bridge and sing "there are no rules, no limits,…" as you try to defy the laws of gravity. Splash…splat. Sorry.
What you seem to be trying to describing is the 1,000 year Millennial Reign of Christ on Earth. Even then there will be government. Not the tyranny and evil of our current destructive administration here in the USA. It will be presided over by Christ Himself and true, there will be no war nor fights, because evil will be bound. But there will be rules and even limits. All the wistful "Imagine", "We Are the World" nonsense in the universe cannot change that. Get your feet on the ground and your head outta your, well, let's say the clouds, and go to work towards a better world. Don't forget there was war even in heaven. It was fought over moral agency. That's the God-given right to choose whether we will follow the good or seek evil. That war continues here on Earth and it will intensify until the great winding up scenes are complete and the Millennial Reign of Christ is ushered in.
    I love you too, man.

Clearly the interest in your program, and the following for what passes for religion, show that the majority of the members of our species seek to be led, rather than to make up their own minds. Many millions of people are led by illiterate regurgitators of mediaevil – or earlier – philosophers whose mantras may have had some relevance to the times when they were first put out, and are not appropriate to today. I wonder what sort of a welcome they will give to the message that 'creativity is taking over' – I should expect them use all their authority to quash that idea flat.
Those who may gain some advantage from their creativity will have such a minor influence overall as their influence will only be felt over a relatively small geographical area within the so-called western economies, this does not mean that they will not be 'influential' from the spending, over a relatively short term, of the mountains of money they hope to make from books sales .
It is avoiding the obvious to promote the idea that the minds behind Microsoft, Apple, Dell etc, are not creative while at the same time being able to harness technology for the benefit of millions of us. In the long term it is only such people who will 'take over', while at the same time providing the rest of us with opportunities to benefit from what they have achieved, and what others will similarly achieve.
It is, at the same time, quite creative to sell the idea that the creators are taking over, though I am not sure where the real benefit lies in that other than for the author to sell lots of books that promote the wrong message that right brainers will rule the future – oh yeah!, when the growing population is fighting over water shortages!

  12. Katherine September 25, 2010 at 11:48 am #

Well lets hope that this is true.
Its the creatives that creat change in our world.
Look at Einstein, they thought that he was 'backward' until the age of 7 – perhaps a wrong judgement. then,
When he had his most 'creative' ideas, he did that in a daydream.
I am a creative – definitely not an 'artist', so most people don't see me this way, but a creative thinker. The biggest frustration is translating thought into persuasive argument in meetings ie bringing others over the line to see things in a 'different' way. When this is done however, we have made some wonderful changes. I guess that it is not surprising that I work in Organisational change and leadership development.

  13. Katherine September 25, 2010 at 11:50 am #

part 2: I have a 7 year old child who everyone recognises as creative. People generally look apon me a little pityingly, saying she may mature and settle down because she isn't the type to finish her ABCs and 123s to the teachers agenda. I certainly hope she doesn't!!Luckily, she does go to an IB school where her creativity is appreciated in her ability to see whatisn't obvious to others.
However, I think the biggest recognition of the need for creativity in our lives is in business. The fact is that we have been expatriated by a major multinational because of it! We are Australians living in Singapore. Unfortunately, although Singapore is way ahead of many Asian nations, a lot of education in Asia is by rote learning, which stifles creative thinking. They therefore need to bring in foreign employees in senior postion that can provide creative solutions in business. If you want change or a 'different' solution to a problem – you must be creative. It is what changes the world – lets hope for the better.

My first career was spent over a span of 34 incredible years in what I considered the best of both worlds: Art and Technology. My legacy of which I feel great pride was that of being Texas' 1st electronic media teacher, 3rd in the nation in a visionary art magnet school. My students and I could play with creative ideas in a high end Macintosh lab and I also had the privilege of teaching Advanced Placement Studio Art simultaneously. The students did the most amazing things blending the logical, technological tools with their creative minds. They moved between traditional and digital media. For many years I have been of the belief that the strong right brained people will continue to enhance the world as they have been the people in our historical time line who were the inventors, those who brought about solutions to society's challenges therefore increasing the quality of each of our lives. Einstein said that a problem cannot be solved at the level that it was created. In essence we must rise above the problem and I believe that is incorporating spiritual assistance. Creativity is all about tapping into and staying connected to SOURCE and with that all things get better and better.

"Why should we use our creative power…? Because there is nothing that makes people so generous, joyful, lively, bold and compassionate, so indifferent to fighting and the accumulation of objects and money."
    Brenda Ureland

I never considered myself a creative person, although sometimes others say I am. I am one who enjoys logic, and remember, we will always need some logical people to write those computer programs. The world can't just go one way or the other. We need both sides of our brains.

  16. Ruth Walker September 25, 2010 at 1:12 pm #

    Hi,

While i'm all for creativity, i think many jobs in the future are still going to require some 'left-brain' thought, such as the career i am planning on training for, hydrogeology – searching for and maintaining clean water resources, part of that job will require using computer technology and analysing information, i find it hard to see how a job such as that could be successfully done relying solely on creativity. Some of the characteristics of 'left-brain' thinking are: making logical deductions from information; planning ahead; processing ideas sequentially; being able to undestand and manipulate mathematical formula; reading and interpreting maps – all of these characteristics will be essential skills for a hydrogeologist – a job I believe will become more and more important in the future as water resources become scarcer and we continue to pollute our planet. I think there needs to be some sort of balance here, yes being creative is obviously important but i find it hard to see how we can progress without also taking advantage of, and using, our 'left-brain' functions also. How can a job which may require someone to go out into the desert, interpret geology and rock formations and decide on the best place to site a borehole for a well ever be accomplished by a computer program?

I am happiest when I am in the midst of creating something. I wouldn't be surprised if this is true for most if not all people. It begins when we are children, babies even. We love to see the pictures that our little fingers make with our spaghetti sauce on our high chair tray. It is pure delight….and this feeling doesn't seem to go away. Even writing a story, constructing a house, painting a picture…all have basically the same effect.
Creativity is core to our being.

all there really is we individually or collectivly create. this illusion we are constantly in the precess of creating. It's just that now we are doing it conciously! (now) And since we are waking up to the fact that we are the creators of our world, we are now deciding to do it with love, compassion and joy to create the very best world for us all. I love you all, and have an audaciously awesome abundant day!

I think you are teaching the right thoughts, creativity is movine faster than the speed of light. look at the latest movies, technology is offering programming and info that is allowing those of us iterested to create our creative thoughts in video. We can recreate our dreams and in that it's possible we may learn from ourselves how to become even more creative and teach others to look at their own dreams. It's vast. This is a great and interesting blog, I'll be back. I am learning to use wordpress so I can offer my own thoughts, thank you for this..

I am creative everyday of my life, because every day I analyze what I hold in my mind, I look to improve it by creating new situations, improving the project, developing the ideas, finalizung them: that is when I consider them as passed and I look for fresh material in my mind. Is that being CREATIVE?

Over the years there have been authors who I've appreciated.
Edward De Bono wrote Serious Creativity and Sur/petition, which said that creativity will be the only way to be competitive in the future.
Paul H. Ray wrote The Cultural Creatives, which said that there were 25% of the population creating culture.
Don Beck and Chris Cowan wrote Spiral Dynamics, which said that as our values change, our orientation to life changes. Our values become more complex. Many of us are moving from fear-based/scarcity values, to love-based/ abundance values.
So, sure I believe that right brain creativity as Silva is teaching is one of the best things for me to move from my very left brain existence years ago, to a whole brain engagement to life today.
I've also, really appreciated the Enneagram to help me transform my life from ego/personality to my Essence.
I am truly having more fun now than at any other time in my life.
Thank you Silva, you're the central method of my Evolving Self.

I believe all invention or improvement of human life are improving the efficiency of human physical body until industrial era. How? Every invention is used to extend our human limbs of our human body – machine to improve productivity by overcoming human beings physical limitation, transportation vehicles to make movement faster than our human legs……..After inventing computer or intelligence technology, the coming development of human beings is entering into the era of non-physical progression but improvement of human life through 'mind'. Mind is something that is unlimited and untouchable. Mind can only expressed through physical world, physical materials of inanimate world, behavior in animate world….

Mind is surely the era of information technology…..that is unlimited, creative, plastic….

Thanks for the great news! I'm a very creative person, and its gotten me in alot of trouble over the years. When you're creative , its hard to be like every one else, and hard to follow the "rules". (and society is not very accepting of people who don't fit into the standard mold!) But then again, why would you want to be like every one else when you can be the unique person you were made to be? So, this article really encouraged me—-the future is very , very bright! Thanks!

No creativity is not restricted to artist alone. It comes into every aspect of my life. It helped me to resolve problems in all areas of my life from how to get my kids to help with chores, helping my kids to build good habits to how we as an individual help save the environment to how to run my life efficiently.

Not being afraid to be fully who you really are allow one to expand and thus creative. I do not let trend, culture or beliefs restrict me. I like to be express myself honestly and fully. I like to be the one who set the trend for the better of all.

Hi Laura, I do think society is gradually realizing that creativity isn't only for a select few. In the past a few people were naturally creative and the rest weren't. I guess society needed that ratio back then. Today we are all encouraged to be creative and while schools still seem to struggle with the idea of making the whole curriculum a lesson in creativity I think some teachers realize it would be a good thing to work towards. I don't think there is enough information going around about what creativity really is and how it's methods can be taught to children and adults. Personally, I find I'm most creative at home (probably like most people) while at work I can be creative within my own domain but I don't feel encouraged to put forward my creative ideas to shape broader themes or my work environment.

I first read about the "new" research on the two brains back in the late 60's, a book called The Psychology of Consciousness. At that time it was a brand new discovery being explored. It came out of the attempt to help treat people with sever epilepsy. The method was extreme and involved severing the bridge of nerve fibers which connect the two brains, the Corpus Colosseum. This was partially helpful for that. But, as often happens, out of this attempt came the even more important realization: the two "hemispheres" were really two brains in one head, each with their own function complementary to the other. So now, less than fifty years later, this reality is part of the awareness that is generating new views of how we can live life more creatively and fully – part of every day language and thinking. If you want to get an amazing description and insight into to this, check out the video on TED.com of Dr. Jill Bolt Taylor and/or her book My Stroke of Insight. She's a brain researcher who lived the experience of having her left brain shut down and what it was like to be functioning with her right brain alone. Which brings me to a point that I think is important: both brains are creative. One is not necessarily more important than the other. Otherwise, we'd have only come with one. It is a truism that the left brain has been pretty much running the show for quite some time. That's out of balance. However, it doesn't mean that it will be better to have the right brain alone be in charge. It needs the qualities and creative ways of the left brain to express the tight brain qualities. It's a balancing act like most relationships. Each brings incredible qualities and both can be creative in the ways that it's done! Like any relationship, two whole parts combining brings forth a new and greater outcome – the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Laura, for 20 years my private business cards have stated, my name and Creative Woman, it got me a good deal of discussions with the world out there, not any more, now it is…..Creative Woman? what do you do? of course…..there is no limit to what you can do with that and there is a lot to talk about………and with my business job as a consultant, creativity has helped a lot, too. Just nobody knew, hi,hi, it was always: she found a way through the backdoor again, smile. And what can I say to you young people….that way life can be soooo much easier……..and the grandchildren smile when they see me.

There is never enough positive creativity. If you wish to change the human reality positively, then humans need to become creative positively.
Every day in every way we need to create a positive reality.
If we create negative energies, then it should not be a big surprise that we continue to achieve negative results.

  34. Chris September 26, 2010 at 3:48 pm #

We are taught in school todo things one way. But there are many ways of doing things. Look at how many different ways in math you get 10. We could solve more things in less time and be happier people. Sometimes rules get in the way. It shuts down our mind. We thought that a stimulus of money would help save the us. It hasn't done anything but pile on more debt. That is one way we are not using our creativity.

Those of you at the Silva Mind offices, I have a question and a statement.
    1. why is it you don't allow people to listen to the alpha sound for free, think of how much you could do for the world. If those of us who at this time maybe can't afford the tapes and disk would get some help and in the process reach a level of creativity that would allow us to find ways to pay you back for your kindness? Money is the ruling god and conciousness controller on this planet and I guess we're all slaves to it in spite of what we're saying to folks.
Professor Messer has unselfishly set out to teach the world how to become A+ certified for free by making tapes and sending daily quizzes to those interested and guess what I get my certification and make a bit of money I'm taking a trip to wherever he is and give him what I think the course was worth to me. There may be people willing to do that to you for the same type of kindness.
Unselfishly thank you for the help you have put out there.
    Dok

  40. Bigdaddydok September 26, 2010 at 5:26 pm #

I think society is concentrating mostly on the lack of money in their lives and forgetting that creativity could be the life saver they're looking for. I think those that do have money are thinking of creative ways to keep the have nots from getting any money, especially their money, lol. when creativity comes full circle, the world will know how to work in a perpetual fashion in that everything will be available for everyone.

I think of myself as a creative person. yes!

I am in a space where I can create freely, that space is in my head, creativity can happen anywhere at anytime. Look at what some prisoners do, they creativily figure out ways to escape maximum security prisons. Perhaps those are the types that should be teaching us how to escape our own prisons. creatively!
    I'd listen!!!

  41. Tony September 26, 2010 at 5:56 pm #

I believe we're all creative. some of us have found our nitch and are able express our creativity. others haven't quite found a way to express themselves. I belong in the latter group. I know that I'm creative but haven't foun an outlet and it's bugging the hell out of me.

  42. Anna September 26, 2010 at 6:12 pm #

We have defined creativity narrowly and thus created a dichotomy. Unless we are a novelists painters sculpurers, actors we are not creative. I can not draw or paint if my life depended on it, but consider myself creative. I can see in my mine the environment I wish to live in and create it. I can see I dish on a plate and create it. I can express my self and be understood. These are all creative aspects of ourselves. We have born with a blank slate and we create on it our lives the way see it, feel it, think about it and believe to be. This is what creativity is all about. Bless all and be blessed in return.

I find it true that we as a people have left creativity behind. Those who would be considered to be the "movers and shakers" of the business world still understand the greatness of the marriage of linear thinking and creativity. Creativity was a big part of the industrial revolution, the information revolution and so on. However, while those shaping the world that we now live in where doing what they do best, most of the rest of us just enjoyed the ride. We set aside our own creativity and simply let other do it for us. Now we lack greatly in the ability to do so, we try to emulate other companies that have done their own creative thinking and fail every time because we do not understand how to apply the creative thought process to the system we are emulating. So I agree, it is time we as a people, as a work force and as a country get back into the idea that we not only should be but need to be creative, to give what we think, feel and dream to the world so that have a hand in the forward movement and evolution of the world.

    Laura:

I have always considered myself creative, right-brained person. Creativity needs to be exercised.

Various incidents have confirmed that I am creative. I have been able to create better surroundings and outcomes in my life. Is this creativity or just talent?

However, I have had to rely on others’ left-brained logic to fix or solve some problems.

Practicing and learning with the Silva Method is helping me to develop both my right and left brained areas.

I agree with everything you say! It is perfectly aligned with where I am at in this moment. I am trying to peel the old layers of myself and trying to uncover more of my true self. I am reading a book called the 5th agreement and it has inspired me. I realize that I have spent most of my life trying to be everything to everybody and sometimes putting myself last! I am a very creative person and love to express myself artistically, but many times I do not allow myself the pleasure of expressing myself that way,
as I am busy doing what I think everyone else might want me to do in order to feel a sense of "fulfillment" I am now in the process of awakening and allowing my divine Spirit to encourage me to take better care of that creative calling and less time being the "earth mother". I am learning to be my own best friend.

I have been a creative person all of my life and I say this at 84 years of age. I consider that force the one, truly great quality that has helped me in making it through this life, at this point. There have been those times when I thought – "perhaps there is something wrong with my way". because of the enormous emphasis placed on the technical but I have learned that creativity is the way . I intend (in fact I've no other choice) but to stick with it and contribute as long as I deal with the earth plain and beyond.

Thank your for remembering me, that it is my born rhight to give into the world this I have to give. I just have to remember. Thank you for giving me the place to express, to make experience. Thank you for the material to creat.

When I was much younger, I used to create my own fashion. I made things to wear out of scarf and made design and sew unusual clothes, etc. I am daring to be different and I also have the body to compliment my creation. That draws a lot of attention as I remember once I made a belt out of a nice piece of rope. Many of my colleague crowd around me to see the belt and kept complimenting me. When they were all gone, a female colleague who was sitting not far away gave me a disapproving look and said "Enough Jesslyn" I was a little taken back but did not think much of it. I think I had a little fear to be disapproved but it did not harm me much.
Anyway, I refuse to take in that belief "When you are creative, it's hard to be like by every one." As long as I do not cross the line to be uncomfortable with my own self I do not care what others think. It is all about me, how comfortable I am and how far I am willing to go. Balance is a key word in my life.

We have a world such as you describe… the weakness seems to be that too
many people need to re-member, All That Is.

I am from Italy and a very creative person, sculptor, painter ecc. Throughout my life in USA others always made me feel like I was an odd person, different from every body around. My acquired family always told me that it wasn't good the way I did things: the way I conducted my self, mostly because I did not keep a 9 to five job like them . I did not follow the rules, and when they could not put me into a mold and change me , my husband divorced me.
I am glad that this part of the world is moving on to do more creative things, and people are finally going to get out of the box, and see the world with different eyes. So people like me will be looked up to and not put down any more.

I am reading all these posts and smiling. Seems like a lot of people are ready for this creative era. Well, me included.

Some seem to have missed the point, it's not like left brain thinking is going out the window. How could that be? We need it. I think the point is that creativity is coming to the fore, whereas previously linear thinking was at the fore. We need them both, of course. They benefit from each other. There is no 'either/or' here. That would be neither practical nor beneficial.

Yes, I think creativity is becoming more and more accepted as a 'normal' way to be. That is definitely a good thing. Too often in the past we have disregarded creative ideas in favor of the tried and true. Progress comes from creativity and certainly, progress is what we all want and do. (Ok, LOA'ers, what does Abraham say? That we are on the 'leading edge'? That's out there….that's creating.)

Silva has been a leader in this movement, probably more so than many others. I'm sure Laura remembers when Silva was considered woo-woo stuff and not a 'legitimate' way to think at all. Yet, her father persisted and there were enough people who agreed to keep it going. Over time, more and more people gave it a try and became believers and now what? Science (that king of left brain thinking!) has PROVEN that it works, and how. Now there are all sorts of programs out there like Silva that people are joining everyday. Big money is being made with all this creativity stuff! Money is what will bring the corporations and finally, the governments, around. If a trend is strong enough everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

This is a good thing. You can't win everyone over with only creative thinking (or only linear thinking). I believe the era of creativity being dominant will be our greatest yet. That person who posted about water treatment is correct that left brain thinking will be necessary; but it will be the right-brainer who conceives the idea and who directs the project. The left-brainer will bring it to fruition. We need them both.

Our frontiers as humans are expanding and only creativity will take us out there.

Me, personally – I am in my 60's and so was one of those right brain people forced into a left brained world. I never truly fit in. I did my best to find work where I could use some creativity and expressed myself on the side, in my 'hobbies'. My mother was one who said, "You must be a secretary or a nurse or a teacher. You can't be an artist! You'll starve to death unless you teach it." I never believed her. (Good thing, huh?)

Now I'm feeling much freer to express my creativity and I'm learning (re-learning, really) to use it for the benefit of all and in so doing, it brings me great joy and contentment. I am looking forward to at least 20 more years to let my flower bloom, so to speak!

Yes, the society is putting more value on creativity, probably as it always was. But now old domain is expanding in a faster and wider way. In fact, I was not aware of it earlier, now I understood it. Thanks.

Yes, i do but I was mostly concerned with literary sphere, though I didn'tg attain any eminence.

Again yes. Now I give expression to my thoughts through blogging in the Internet. I am a retired person. I don't expect any unexpected scoop.

Thanks for the nice wsrite up.

I so appreciate those, who, take their brilliance (Left brain magic) and somehow funnel it all into their other brilliance (Right brain magic) and create things like computers and internet. Cause if it weren't for you… I'd not be here commenting right now.

I so love our brains – both sides… I'm not all that fussy – the whole bloomin lot!!

We have reached at this stage with the magics of our left brain – being logical, analytical and cheating the time and space to some extent. But now it seems there is calling from the laws of universe – that there is even more powerful magic in our right brain – being more and more spiritually conscious, intutive, creative – sourcing more reliable and powerful information from higher realms. Yes, creativity adds value to our lives and much more…
